The Bavarian Football Association (Bayerischer Fußball-Verband; BFV) has confirmed a partnership with Firstbeat Sports to use their athlete monitoring solution as part of their education system in the areas of training load and recovery management. The BFV is the largest of the 21 regional football associations in Germany, with more than 1.6 million members and 24,500 teams.
The partnership with the BFV highlights how accessible the Firstbeat Sports solution is for amateur sports coaches and players, thanks to its simplicity and user-friendly interface. Firstbeat’s Christoph Rottensteiner says:
“The cooperation with the Bavarian Football Association is particularly important for Firstbeat Sports because it communicates to future coaches and non-physicians or sports scientists that scientifically based physiological training parameters are also accessible to everyone and, above all, can be conveyed in an understandable way, so that our parameters can also be used in practice in the lower leagues.”
In recent years the physical component has increased enormously in football, both at the professional and amateur levels. Players and the game are evolving due to the use of various tracking systems, and players are now better protected from injuries or wrong load and recovery management.
The Firstbeat solution will provide individual, objective feedback for the BFV at a team level in real time or in post-analysis for specific forms of exercise. On the partnership with Firstbeat, Andreas Schink, Managing Director at the BFV says:
