Firstbeat CEO Joni Kettunen, PhD will speak at WT |Wearable Technologies Conference 2016 USA. This year’s event takes place at the historic Fort Mason Center in San Francisco, CA, July 12-13, 2016. Firstbeat will be present throughout the event, showcasing current physiologically-based analytic contributions, and laying the groundwork for the solutions of tomorrow.

Kettunen’s presentation, Fitness for Real: Metrics that Matter, will take place Wednesday, July 13th at 3:30pm as part of the News from the World of Sports and Fitness track moderated by Flex VP of Product Management Eric Braddom.

Presentation attendees will discover the increasingly important role individualized training plays in the world of elite sport and how wearables can offer those same benefits to consumers. Special attention will be paid to how real personal fitness is measured, the anatomy of an actionable insight, and why the ability to effect behavioral change is the ultimate measure of value for wearables. Examples will be used from Firstbeat’s work with the  NBA’s Golden State Warriors and the NHL’s San Jose Sharks and collaborations with industry leading wearable manufacturers like Garmin, Sony, Samsung, Suunto, Bosch, Jabil, PulseOn and more.

During the event, Firstbeat will be available at Stand 209.

Over a 1000 attendees from across the spectrum of the wearable technology landscape are expected to attend. Chip vendors, integrators, distributed networks; as well as network, product, and service solution providers will be present, ensuring the significance of the event on  the industry calendar.

“This conference here in the Bay Area is the 21st of these events that WT | Wearable Technologies has organized around the world over the past 10 years,” remarked Firstbeat CEO Joni Kettunen about the upcoming event. “The industry has been developing so quickly, sometimes it’s surprising to realize it’s already been a decade, then I look back and remember that we’ve been working at Firstbeat since 2002, so even longer than that. It’s amazing to see how far things have come in that time, and we are excited to be here, sponsoring this event, with the goal of gathering the industry together, sharing expertise and building the future.”
